Program Overview

The goal of our department is to create consciousness about the need for philosophy in private and social life including scientific research; to encourage acting in accordance with reason; to bring up individuals and citizens responsive to national and international problems and needs, putting respects to moral law and taking into consideration the "knowledge of value" as well as regarding and protecting human rights to create a more humane world through philosophical education.

Additional Information & Requirements

Students are required to be a graduate of high school or equivalent and must have an adequate score from Undergraduate Placement Exam held annually by the Turkish Student Selection and Placement Center or for foreign students; from Foreign Student Exam held by AD , University entrance exam administered by the Student Selection and Placement Centre SYM, first stage is the Higher Education Entrance Exam YGS, Candidates who recieve between 140-179 points on YGS, a score of 180 or higher on the YGS exam gain, with scores over 180 on LYS, Candidates with the following scores will be considered as exempt from the foreign languages preparatory class: for programmes which are carried out partially in Turkish and partially in a foreign language - a score of 65 out of 100, for programmes which are carried out entirely in a foreign language - a score of 70 out of 100 and TOEFL or IELTS score equivalent to UDS score of 50, must achieve a Turkish proficiency level of at least B
