Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm)

The Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) at Dubai Pharmacy College for Girls (DPCG) is a comprehensive 4½-year full-time undergraduate degree that prepares students for professional roles in pharmaceutical sciences, patient care, and healthcare systems. It suits aspiring pharmacists who want strong foundations in biomedical sciences, clinical pharmacy, pharmaceutics, pharmacotherapy, and real-world practice with experiential placements. 

Curriculum structure

Year 1:
In the first year, students build fundamental knowledge in Basic Biomedical Sciences and Pharmaceutical Sciences through courses like Organic Chemistry I, Anatomy & Physiology I, and Medical Terminology, which introduce them to the scientific basis of drug action and human health. They also take general education and professional orientation modules that strengthen communication skills and understanding of pharmacy as a profession, laying the groundwork for more specialized study. 

Year 2:
The second year deepens students’ scientific understanding with subjects such as Organic Chemistry II, Physical Pharmacy, Analytical Chemistry, and Pharmaceutics II, enhancing their grasp of drug formulation and analysis. At the same time, foundational clinical topics like Microbiology and Pathology begin to bridge basic sciences with disease mechanisms and later therapeutic studies. 

Year 3:
In the third year, the curriculum integrates therapeutic knowledge with pharmaceutical application through courses such as Pharmacology & Therapeutics II & III, Biopharmaceutics & Pharmacokinetics, and Pharmaceutical Analysis. Students also participate in Introductory Professional Practice Experiences (IPPE), gaining early hands-on exposure in healthcare environments that reinforces clinical reasoning and professional skills. 

Year 4:
By the fourth year, students focus on advanced clinical pharmacy and professional practice, including Advanced Professional Practice Experiences (APPE) that take place in hospital settings where they rotate through internal medicine, intensive care, ambulatory care, and outpatient pharmacies. They also undertake a Capstone Project, synthesizing knowledge from pharmaceutics, clinical pharmacy, pharmacology, and pharmaceutical chemistry into research or applied outcomes.

While specific QS or Guardian rankings are not published for DPCG’s pharmacy program, its status as the first pharmacy college in the UAE, long-standing accreditation, and strong alumni network with placements in hospitals, community pharmacies, industry, and further postgraduate study reflect solid regional reputation and graduate employability.
