Program Overview

Extended degree programmes are a means of accessing degree study should you not meet the entry requirements for honours degree programmes. These five-year courses replace some of our former foundation degree and extended foundation degree programmes. Candidates will be assessed at the end of their first year of study and progress to either an ordinary degree (BSc) or Honours Degree (BSc Hons).This course in Wildlife Conservation and Environmental Management is aimed at students who wish to pursue a practical career in wildlife conservation, and provides hands-on experience in the techniques of undertaking practical wildlife surveys for a range of species. Wildlife conservation is a dynamic subject area and there are continual evolutionary changes within this discipline. Current media interest in wildlife/species conservation, continue to dominate the headlines and will be studied throughout this course with dedicated and specialist staff. Students pursuing a career in this fascinating area will be introduced to the key concepts of wildlife conservation, biodiversity, wildlife identification, animal behaviour and welfare.
