This course is one of a small number of Honours degree level programmes designed to give you the knowledge and skills to understand the social, economic, educational, political and cultural issues and barriers facing children, young people and families, particularly in socially disadvantaged areas. Professionals working with children and young people are increasingly required to have formal qualifications recognising their expertise in these areas. The course looks at social and education policy, and gives you a thorough understanding of the roles and responsibilities of agencies working with children and families including the Children s Workforce Development Council, Social Services, Local Education Authorities, schools, third sector organisations and the Police.
You must achieve 96 UCAS points including a minimum of CC at A level or equivalent (e.g.MM at BTEC Diploma or MPP at BTEC Extended Diploma), in achieving the 96 point tariff total, Five GCSEs at grade 4 (or C) or above (or recognised equivalents), including English Language, are also required, At least one satisfactory reference, IELTS score of, 6.0 with at least 5.5 in each individual component
