Program Overview

In the first year you will take the two core modules entitled Remembering Athens and Monuments and Memory in the Age of Augustus, which will introduce you to classical Athens and early imperial Rome, seen from a variety of perspectives (not just historical) and different forms of evidence, and prepare you for a wide range of more specifically historical modules about politics and society in the ancient world available in your second and third years.
