It’s ideal if you want to explore how interiors shape the way people live, work and feel, while building strong design skills in a supportive studio environment.

Curriculum Structure

Foundation Year

Your foundation year is designed to build confidence and creative thinking before you move into degree-level study. You’ll explore core design principles, visual communication and problem-solving through hands-on projects and workshops. This year helps you develop essential creative and academic skills while discovering your own design interests.

Year 1

In your first year of the degree, you’ll begin working on interior design briefs that introduce you to spatial thinking and design development. You’ll explore how colour, light, materials and atmosphere influence interiors, while developing skills in drawing, model-making and digital design. Sustainability and wellbeing are introduced early, helping you design spaces that are thoughtful and human-centred.

Year 2

Your second year challenges you with more complex projects that reflect real-world design practice. You’ll respond to client-style briefs, consider cultural and environmental context, and refine how you develop and communicate your ideas. This year focuses on strengthening your design process, technical understanding and personal design identity.

Year 3

In your final year, you’ll bring everything together through ambitious, independent work. You’ll complete a Final Major Project, researching and designing a complete interior proposal based on your own interests. You’ll also prepare a professional portfolio and present your work in exhibitions, helping you transition confidently into the design industry or further study.
