The courses are focused on practical work, with specialist routes available in: performance; composition and improvisation; musical theatre; instrumental or vocal teaching; music business and community music. There is an extensive programme of professional concerts and masterclasses on campus, free to students, as well as the chance to experience similar events at major UK conservatoires places where many of our students go on to study as postgraduates. The three-year BA (Hons) Music course can be focused on composition, with choices in composition through improvisation; composing for film and multimedia; devising for dance; composing for music theatre; and arranging for choirs, ensembles and orchestras.
A recognised and relevant foundation/Access course (minimum pass mark for a UK-based foundation programme is usually 55%), Higher Secondary School Certificate with a minimum score of 60%, High School Diploma (to age 18) where it is deemed equivalent to A Levels (3 A Level passes at BBB/BCC), An International Baccalaureate (28 points), EDEXCEL BTEC National Diploma (MMM-DMM), IELTS 6.0 overall with no component less than 5.5 (or equivalent).
