Program Overview

The BA (Hons) Fashion Design with Business at Glasgow Caledonian University offers a dynamic combination of creative fashion training and essential business acumen. Designed for aspiring fashion professionals and entrepreneurs, this course fosters innovation, ethical leadership, and sustainable design practice within the global fashion market.   • Year 1: Global Challenges for Business and Society, Principles of Marketing, Creative Fashion Concepts

  • Year 2: Fundamentals of Financial Management for Decision Makers, Fashion Design and Visualisation Intermediate, Garment Realisation Intermediate, Fashion Design Practice, along with optional modules

  • Year 3: Digital Presentation and Portfolio, Business Case Investigation, Strategic Marketing Planning, Fashion for the Common Good, along with optional modules

  • Year 4: Creating and Designing Experiences, Final Major Fashion Project 1, Honours Research Project, Final Major Fashion Project 2, along with optional modules

Experiential Learning (Research, Projects, Internships etc.)

  • Hands-on experience in GCU’s Fashion Factory with real-world garment production

  • Live case studies with fashion brands and retailers

  • Industry guest speakers and employer-led workshops

  • CAD software and digital prototyping tools used throughout the course

  • Field visits to fashion companies and industry exhibitions

  • Final year includes the opportunity to create a professional collection or business concept
