Program Overview

The LLB (Hons) Law with Business at Keele University uniquely integrates rigorous legal education with essential business management skills, preparing graduates for a wide range of professional careers. The law content meets the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) requirements, enabling students to pursue the legal profession while gaining valuable commercial insight.

  • Keele’s Double Gold awards in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) 2017 and 2023 emphasize its outstanding teaching quality and student satisfaction.

Students gain practical experience through participation in Legal Advice Clinics covering divorce, commercial, and small claims matters, and through the Community Legal Outreach Collaboration Keele (CLOCK) program. Opportunities such as mooting competitions and access to qualifying work experience (QWE) further enhance employability.

Course overview:

  • Year 1: Legal Essentials, Obligations, Public Law, Exploring Business Foundations: Principles and Practices

  • Year 2: Criminal Law, Law of Real Property, Law of the European Union, along with optional modules which includes Legal Professional Development (University Placement Module)

  • Year 3: Law of Trusts, Strategic Business Insights: Innovating and Competing, along with optional modules which includes Project and Legal Professional Development (University Placement Module)

Experiential Learning (Research, Projects, Internships etc.)

  • CLOCK: Support litigants in person dealing with family law, housing disputes, and protection orders.
  • Mooting Competitions: Practice courtroom advocacy and gain public speaking experience.

  • Placement Year: Optional year in legal, business, or consultancy sectors (subject to visa regulations).

  • International Year: Opportunity to study abroad and broaden legal and business perspectives.

Progression & Future Opportunities

  • Graduates are prepared for legal practice, consultancy, compliance, and management roles.

  • Full support from Keele’s Career and Employability Service for internships, placements, and graduate jobs.

  • Average earnings: £22,000, 15 months after the course 

  • 100% of the students go on to work and/or study
