Program Overview

The BSc (Hons) Business Technology at Ulster University prepares students to become agile business leaders with strong technological expertise.

  • Combining insights from business operations and digital innovation, the course addresses the growing demand for graduates skilled in using Industry 4.0 technologies such as AI and robotics.
  • Students gain the ability to analyse business data, solve complex problems, and manage consultancy projects.

Delivered part-time, the programme features a multidisciplinary curriculum from both the Business School and the Faculty of Computing, Engineering and the Built Environment. A Higher Level Apprenticeship version is also available.

Module Overview:

  • Year One: Effective Communication, Business Analysis Foundations, Introduction to Accounting for Business (optional), Principles of Management (optional), Programming I (optional), Programming II (JavaScript) (optional)
  • Year Two: Business Process Management, Digital Business Management, Globalisation and the International Business Environment, Introduction to Database Systems, Business Analysis in Practice
  • Year Three: Enterprise Systems, Digital Transformation and Innovation, Reflective Practice in Management Consulting, Behavioural Sciences, Managing and Developing People (optional), Human Computer Interaction (optional)
  • Year Four: Governance, Risk and Ethics, Technology Management Project, Strategic Business Planning (optional), Data Analytics (optional)

Experiential Learning (Research, Projects, Internships etc.)

  • Project to be done in the final year
  • Guest Lectures: The programme includes lectures featuring guest speakers, providing students with insights from industry professionals and exposure to current business and technology practices.
