Program Overview

This Business Economics programme blends economic theory with practical business knowledge, offering both numerical (mathematical and statistical) and non-numerical tools to understand decision-making, management, and organisational behaviour across sectors.

  • Emphasising real-world applications, the course equips students with in-demand skills for analysing economic issues in both the global economy and the Northern Irish context. It prepares students for careers in business, policymaking, or further postgraduate study.

The curriculum is aligned with industry standards, including guidance from the Government Economic Service and Advance HE, ensuring graduates are equipped to tackle today’s economic challenges in business.

Module Overview:

  • Year One: Economics in Practice, Microeconomic & Macroeconomic Principles, Mathematics and Statistics, Skills for Economists along with optional modules
  • Year Two: Analytical Methods, Intermediate Micro & Macroeconomics, Entrepreneurship and Professional Practice,  along with optional modules
  • Year Three (optional): Study Abroad or Work Placement
  • Final Year: Economics of Business Strategy & Institutions,  along with optional modules

  • Diploma in Professional Practice (DPP)

  • Diploma in International Academic Studies (DIAS)

  • Diploma in Professional Practice International (DPPI)

Experiential Learning (Research, Projects, Internships etc.)

  • Placement Option in Year 3
