Program Overview

The BSc (Hons) Business Economics and Data Analytics at Surrey prepares students to address business challenges using economics and data-driven decision-making. This interdisciplinary course blends economic theory with advanced analytics, helping students develop skills in coding, machine learning, and econometrics, alongside business and management expertise.

  • Students can opt for a Professional Training placement, and also have the flexibility to choose a foundation year if they need to build their skills before starting the main degree.

The program ensures a strong understanding of economic principles, business operations, and real-world data analysis to support effective decision-making in today's digital economy.

Course Structure:

  • Foundation Year (optional): Prepares students for degree-level study.

  • Year 1: Modules are designed to provide you with a broad range of basic tools, skills and knowledge that you will develop in the course of your programme.

  • Year 2: The programme becomes more specialised. You will learn how businesses operate and interact as well as their role within the economy.

  • Professional Training Year (optional): Industry placement to gain hands-on experience.

  • Final Year: You will choose four optional modules in addition to four compulsory ones.
