Program Overview

QMU’s BA (Hons) Business Psychology combines business management with psychological insight to help you understand human behaviour in the workplace and how organisations can optimise performance. Curriculum Structure

Year 1

The first year provides a foundation in both business and psychology. Modules include Marketing and Consumer Behaviour, Foundations of Psychology, Introduction to Finance and Accounting, Data Management, and Psychology in Practice. These give students core skills in understanding people, managing information, and applying psychological principles to professional settings.

Year 2

Year two focuses on human behaviour in organisational contexts and ethical business practice. Modules include Human Resource Management, Business Law, Ethics, Social Justice and Sustainability, Developmental and Social Psychology, and Biological and Cognitive Psychology. Students explore talent management, diversity, organisational processes, and psychological theory applied to work.

Year 3

In the third year, students apply psychology to business and management challenges. Modules include Selection, Assessment and Career Coaching, Business Statistics, Research Methods, New Enterprise Start-up, and Psychobiology in Context. These prepare students to analyse behaviour, conduct research, and implement HR and business strategies.

Year 4

The final year focuses on advanced topics and independent research. Modules include Strategy, Negotiation Theory and Practice, Marketing Strategy and Digital Planning, The Human Factor, Organisational Behaviour, and an Honours Dissertation or Consultancy Project. Students consolidate their knowledge to tackle complex business and organisational problems using psychological insight.
