Program Overview

This degree combines the study of economics with modern data science tools, giving you the skills to understand how businesses and economies work and how to make smarter, evidence-based decisions. Here, you’ll work with Python, real datasets, and case studies to apply your learning to real-world challenges.

  • Lab-based sessions – In “Economic Data Analysis,” you’ll work in labs where you’ll visualise and explore data using tools like MS Excel and R.

  • Placement opportunities – You can choose a placement year and gain industry experience, applying what you’ve learned in a professional setting.

  • Advanced, topical modules – From time-series econometrics and machine learning to environmental and behavioural economics, you’ll work on case studies and empirical projects that bring theory to life.

  • Employability focus – Dedicated modules on employability will help you build your CV, prepare for interviews, and connect with the kinds of careers you want after graduation.

  • Independent research project – In your final year, you’ll take the lead on a topic of your choice, conducting your own analysis or research using the skills you’ve built up across the programme.

  • Taught by experts – Your lecturers aren’t just teachers, they’re researchers and advisers to leading organisations. That means the teaching is enriched with real industry insights, and you may even benefit from guest lectures or case-study-led sessions.
