With today's advancing technologies comes the increasing threat of cybercrime. The National Cyber Security Strategy makes clear the importance of good network defences in securing the UK. GCU has developed a suite of programmes which provide the opportunity to be at the forefront of defending cyberspace from sophisticated malicious attacks and future threats.Cyber Security and Networks covers the protection of computer equipment, information and services from unauthorised access, change or destruction. It will inform you of the latest technologies, help you understand legal, ethical and professional responsibilities and provide a broad awareness of the industry.

Year 1 - Full time
Scottish Higher: BBCC, including Mathematics, Computing, or Physics, and National 5: English and Mathematics at grade C.
Minimum entry requirement: CCCC, including Mathematics, Computing, or Physics, and National 5: English and Mathematics at grade C.
The minimum entry requirements mentioned above are specifically applicable to widening access students. If you belong to a group that is currently underrepresented in higher education, you may qualify as a widening access student. This can include factors such as living in a targeted postcode area, attending a targeted school or college, participating in the SWAP program, being a care-experienced individual or caregiver, having refugee status, or being an asylum seeker.
A level: CCD, including Mathematics, Computing, ICT, or Physics, and GCSE: English and Mathematics at grade C/4.
ILC Higher: H2 H2 H4 H4, including Mathematics, Computing, or Physics, and O2: English and Mathematics.
IB Diploma: 26 points, including Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics at grade 4.
BTEC: MMM Extended Diploma in a relevant subject, and GCSE: English and Mathematics at grade C/4.
SWAP: Access to STEM CCC.
English language: IELTS score of 6.0 (or equivalent), with no element below 5.5.
Year 2 - Full time
IB Diploma: 30 points, including two subjects at HL, including Computer Science or Mathematics, plus SL Mathematics or Computer Science.
Year 3 - Full time
College HND: Computing Networking/Computing Technical Support/Cyber Security, with graded units AA.
