The BA (Hons) Humanistic Counselling combines Humanistic theory with professional and ethical practice and is grounded in Humanistic values which reflect today s attitudes and working conditions. You ll be given the opportunity to explore how, as a Humanistic practitioner, you can contribute to the contemporary and growing field of counselling and psychotherapy. The degree offers a wide range of opportunities for theoretical and experiential learning including honing your practice, gaining a solid yet critical overview of the approach, and explorations of creative and research-based elements. You will interact with peers to cultivate and co-operate in discovering new ways of understanding therapy and yourselves.
Standard Entry Requirements (specific requirements may vary): For Year 1 admission, it is necessary to present evidence of foundational training in counseling, such as our Certificate in Counseling Skills. Additionally, you must fulfill one of the following criteria: Demonstrate the equivalent of 120 Level 4 credits. Demonstrate accreditation of prior experiential learning (in place of credits) by completing a portfolio task after a successful interview. For Year 3 admission, you must possess a Diploma in Counseling, along with 100 placement hours, and hold 120 Level 4 and 120 Level 5 credits (typically obtained through your Diploma). If you lack a prior Level 5 qualification, you can apply using a portfolio after a successful interview. Additional requirements include: For international students, an overall IELTS score of 6.0, with no individual element lower than 5.5. Completion of an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
