This area of work is often referred to as Community Learning and Development. Graduates from the BA Community Education programme can be found working in settings as diverse as Adult Education, Community Arts, Environmental Campaigning, Mental Health (self-help projects), and Youth Projects and Centres. The single most striking feature of the professional field is its diversity, and the programme is constructed to allow students to develop specialist knowledge and expertise alongside generic skills and understanding. The study programme combines taught classes and experience of professional practice through practice placements supervised by professionally qualified practitioners.
