This will explore the latest theory and analysis surrounding childhood and the influence that culture, play and legal issues have on childhood education today. You will learn about child development, learning theories, and policy relevant to early years; all in the context of professional practice in today s multicultural society. You will study a diverse range of modules, from inclusion and equality, including family rights and safeguarding, to the rights of children, leadership and management, special educational needs, and working in multicultural settings. You will gain a thorough understanding of all factors affecting the field, helping you identify the areas you could specialise in.
