English Studies is the study of both English Language and English Literature. It is a rich and thoughtful field in which to do a degree. You study both high-level issues of Language grammar, syntax, rhetoric and writing styles and also theoretical and philosophical aspects of language how language functions in relation to community and politics, issues of language and power, forms of English, and so forth. At the same time as this, you take a range of modules in English Literature, developing your understanding of the subject.
