Electronic and Electrical Engineering (Artificial Intelligence) BEng

3 Years On Campus Bachelors Program

Brunel University

Program Overview

If you’re excited about electronics and curious about how artificial intelligence can transform technology, this degree is for you. Brunel’s Electronic and Electrical Engineering (AI) program blends traditional engineering knowledge with hands-on AI skills, preparing you to design smart systems and tackle real-world tech challenges.

Curriculum Structure

Year 1: Building Your Foundations

In your first year, you’ll get a solid grounding in electronics, digital systems, and programming. Modules like Electrical and Electronic Principles, Digital Systems, and Programming for Engineers help you understand the basics and give you the skills you need to build more advanced projects later.

Year 2: Diving Deeper and Exploring AI

Year two focuses on expanding your engineering knowledge and introducing AI concepts. You’ll explore Analogue and Digital Electronics and Signals and Systems, while Introduction to Artificial Intelligence shows you how AI starts to integrate with engineering solutions. This is where your skills start to feel really exciting and practical.

Year 3: Specialising and Making an Impact

In your final year, you’ll really get to apply everything you’ve learned. Artificial Intelligence Systems lets you tackle advanced AI challenges, and your Individual Project gives you the chance to design, build, and test your own solution—often working on real-world problems with industry partners.

Focus Areas

Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Embedded Systems, Intelligent Systems Design

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, you’ll be confident in designing electronic systems, applying AI techniques, and solving complex problems that engineers face in today’s tech-driven world.
