A three-year, full-time Honours undergraduate degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, with the option to transfer into the MEng programme at the end of Stage 2 or undertake a placement year (“sandwich” variant) after Stage 2.
Curriculum structure:
Stage 1 (Year 1): Students engage with a range of foundational topics including Embedded Systems, Mathematics, Analogue and Digital Electronics, Communications, Computing, and Electrical Engineering, forming a solid technical base.
Stage 2 (Year 2): The curriculum continues to deepen core engineering knowledge through a blend of modules covering Electric Circuits, Analogue Circuit Design, Embedded Systems, Professional Engineering Practice, Digital Electronics, Electrical Power, Signals & Systems, Control, Communications Systems, and Mathematics.
Stage 3 (Year 3 – final year for the BEng): Students explore advanced and specialized topics, such as Project work, Engineering Entrepreneurship, Advanced Electronics, Power Electronics, Electrical Power & Energy, High-Frequency System Techniques, Networks & Communication Protocols, Control Systems Engineering, Signal Processing, Communications Systems Engineering, and Connected Health.
Focus areas: The course emphasizes embedded systems, analog and digital electronics, communications systems, signal processing, control systems, electrical power engineering, and hardware–software integration. Research-led teaching ensures students are exposed to cutting-edge technologies.
