BA (Hons) Business English (International Top Up)

1 Year On Campus Bachelors Program

University of Chichester

Program Overview

This degree program has been developed in collaboration with event professionals and organizations to ensure that you gain both academic knowledge and practical experience. You will explore various aspects of event management, such as logistics, business operations, and practical implementation. Throughout the program, you will have the opportunity to learn from experienced event managers who have organized events worldwide.

Practical experience is a key component of this program, and you will be exposed to real-world situations. The BA (Hons) Event Management Top-Up degree is a business-oriented program that will equip you with the necessary skills to succeed in the highly competitive event industry. As a top-up student joining the final year of the BA (Hons) Event Management program, you can choose to undertake a 10-week work placement to gain valuable hands-on experience in an organization or write a thesis for a management project.

The curriculum also emphasizes health and safety as well as risk management. Final year modules, including sponsorship, public relations, and marketing communications, are designed to support you in organizing your final "live" event or completing your thesis. Each module typically includes a weekly tutor-facilitated workshop lasting approximately 2.5-3 hours, with group sizes usually ranging from 20 to 25 students.

During your final year, when organizing the "live" event, you may work in even smaller groups of 6-8 students, guided by tutors, to deliver an event for a client. In the past, students have successfully organized a wide range of events, such as auctions, gala balls, award ceremonies, music festivals, fashion exhibitions, sports challenges, game shows, and family fun days. If you choose to write a thesis, you will be assigned a personal project supervisor to support and guide you throughout the process.
