Lancaster s Linguistics and Philosophy degree is taught jointly by the Department of Linguistics and English Language ranked fourth in the country by The Complete University Guide 2016 and the Department of Politics, Philosophy and Religion which is home to 10 philosophers. Studying language alongside a wide range of philosophical themes gives you the opportunity to appreciate how language relates to thought and how our language is different from and similar to the signalling systems of animals. You will also address philosophical questions through the study of the history of Philosophy and through contemporary philosophical discussion.
The typical A-Level offer is: AAB, IB: 35. Minimum percentage required (12 standard or HSC) 75%. IELTS 6.5 overall with at least 5.5 in each component.
