BA Hons Events Management

3 Years On Campus Bachelors Program

Manchester Metropolitan University

Program Overview

Manchester Metropolitan University delivers the BA (Hons) Events Management, a degree course which prepares students for the fast-paced and rapidly evolving events sector. The course merges business and creative skills with those that enable students to plan, organize, and create numerous types of events – from sporting and music events to business and international exhibitions. Practical skills are balanced with theoretical knowledge in the degree, which ensures graduates are ready to work.

Curriculum Structure:
The curriculum is structured to build skill increasingly over three years of learning:

  • Year 1: Students are exposed to the basics of events management, including the fundamentals of event planning, marketing, and project management. Modules are likely to include business operations, the visitor economy, and an appreciation of events on an international scale. Confidence building and an awareness of the essentials of events development and delivery are themes of this year.

  • Year 2: The focus is practice-based application of theory. The students study event logistics, sustainable events, event technologies, and the social and economic impacts of events. This level typically includes real case studies with students collaborating with industry partners or giving live events as part of their studies. Analytical and problem-solving skills are developed to prepare students for leadership.

  • Year 3: This final year is all about strategy and career development. The students undertake independent studies through a dissertation or consultancy project, addressing real issues in the events industry. They also study more advanced modules on strategic event management, leadership, and innovation to make sure that they are graduating with academic substance as well as practical skills.

Accreditation:

  • The program is accredited by the Association for Events Management Education (AEME) and mapped to the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), giving the student a qualification recognized in the industry and verified by employers worldwide.

Campus Location:
