Events are hugely important attractions for tourism and play a key role in the marketing of destinations. This course looks at the important role of the event manager as a part of the wider tourism industry. We take advantage of our London location, giving you the opportunity to attend high-profile events and a variety of venues to gain exposure to the industry in action. As well as live event projects, you ll learn through practical teaching such as case studies and team projects, to understand the fundamentals of event management. You will learn marketing, human resources, entrepreneurship, risk and change management and accounting and finance to give you the grounding needed to understand the scope of practical planning for events. You will also study the travel and tourism sector with an understanding of planning and policy measures, as well as the impact of events for legacy and regeneration.
