If you start with the foundation year, it’s your stepping stone into university life. You’ll build confidence in science, maths, and academic skills — everything you need to succeed in your degree. It’s perfect if you’re changing direction or returning to study.

Year 1
In your first year, you’ll dive into the core science that underpins sport nutrition. Modules such as Principles of Human Nutrition, Exercise Physiology 1, Biochemistry and Metabolism, and Performance Nutrition introduce how nutrients are processed in the body, how exercise affects physiology, and what drives peak athletic performance.

Year 2
By your second year, you’ll take your knowledge further and start applying it to real-world contexts. You’ll study Food Chain and Sustainability, Eating Behaviour for Sport and Health, and Exercise Physiology 2, learning how the environment, psychology, and food systems all influence the choices athletes and individuals make. You’ll also develop essential research skills in Research Methods 2, preparing you for professional and academic projects ahead.

Year 3
Your final year focuses on independent learning and applied experience. You’ll explore advanced topics through Nutrition Through the Lifecycle (Special Populations), Molecular Nutrition and Genetics, and Sport Supplements and Contemporary Issues. You’ll also complete an Applied Placement in Nutrition or Sport Nutrition, gaining valuable industry exposure, and finish with your Major Project, where you design and conduct your own piece of research in an area that excites you.
