Program Overview

The Sport Coaching and Performance degree at Newman is an opportunity for you to combine sports coaching with sport science to help you pursue a career in a performance coaching setting. The degree will allow you to develop your coaching skills by reflecting upon your practical experiences in an academic way as well as being able to apply sport science concepts to your coaching covering disciplines such as biomechanics, physiology and psychology. You will learn to enhance, monitor and analyse performance to inform your coaching practice while having have access to excellent facilities such as the new on-campus 3G artificial grass pitch, sports hall and the Human Performance Laboratory.

Additional Information & Requirements

You must achieve at least 112 UCAS points, including a minimum of CC at A Level or equivalent (e.g. MM at BTEC Diploma; MPP at BTEC Extended Diploma) towards the total tariff, A Level 3 qualification (e.g. A Level or BTEC level 3) in a sport, PE or science related subject, 5 GCSEs at grade 4/C or above to include GCSE English, mathematics and science, or recognised equivalents are also required, At least one satisfactory reference, IELTS score of, 6.0 with at least 5.5 in each individual component
