Program Overview

BA (Hons) Sport Development with Coaching is a brand new addition to the Newman Sport portfolio for 2019. It not only offers a fresh and relevant curriculum for the modern sport student, it has been specifically designed to equip students with the skills needed for academic and vocational success both on and off the sports field. The development strand focuses on aspects of sports management, sport sociology, sport policy and sport events, while the coaching strand develops an understanding of established and innovative grassroots, community and elite coaching techniques and leadership styles. It is the evolution of former successful courses, BSc (Hons) Sport Coaching Science and BA (Hons) Sport and Exercise Studies.

Additional Information & Requirements

You must achieve at least 112 UCAS points, including a minimum of CC at A Level or equivalent (e.g. MM at BTEC Diploma; MPP at BTEC Extended Diploma) towards the total tariff, A Level 3 qualification (e.g. A Level or BTEC level 3) in a sport, PE or science related subject, 5 GCSEs at grade 4/C or above to include GCSE English, mathematics and science, or recognised equivalents are also required, At least one satisfactory reference, IELTS score of, 6.0 with at least 5.5 in each individual component
