The BA Liberal Arts program provides you with the opportunity to design your own degree by selecting from a wide range of options in the fields of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Arts. These options encompass six major themes, namely:
Social Justice and Identity
Politics and International Relations
Literature and Language
Religions and Philosophy
History and Heritage
Media and Creative Industries
This curriculum structure ensures a balance between breadth and depth of knowledge, allowing for flexibility while also fostering research expertise in your chosen area of interest. In the second and third years of study, you have the freedom to personalize your curriculum by selecting optional modules from two or more of the six pathways mentioned above. Our team will work closely with you to help shape a course that reflects your individual interests and priorities.
Upon completion of the program, graduates of Roehampton's BA Liberal Arts will possess a diverse set of skills, knowledge, and worldly perspectives, making them highly attractive to employers and offering excellent career prospects.
Year 1 Entry:
Minimum of 96-112 UCAS points (or an equivalent qualification)
Students studying T Levels are encouraged to apply.
International Baccalaureate:
Language A (first language): SL grade 4 or HL grade 3
Language B (language acquisition): SL grade 6 or HL grade 5
IELTS 6.0 with 5.5 in each section.
Graduates of the Liberal Arts program possess highly transferable skills that make them well-suited for employment across various sectors, including government, public sectors, education, media, volunteering/NGO sector, and the corporate sector.
The program places a strong emphasis on developing employability skills throughout the curriculum. Students have the opportunity to engage in a year-long work placement, spend a term studying abroad, and undertake a final year project module that builds upon their previous placement experience. Through an "authentic assessment" approach, students have the chance to create a portfolio showcasing their critical thinking, communication skills, and analytical arguments. This portfolio may include websites, blogs, video-essays, policy reports, reviews, and other relevant materials. The portfolio serves as a valuable asset in a graduate's job search toolkit, demonstrating their capabilities and enhancing their prospects in the job market.
