On the NCTJ-accredited multi-platform course offered, students will have the opportunity to acquire a comprehensive skill set necessary for a successful journalism career. These skills include reporting, digital production, feature writing, and shorthand.

In addition to their degree, students will be enrolled in the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ) Diploma in Journalism, which is widely recognized as an entry-level qualification for professional practice in the field.

The course is delivered by a combination of experienced media industry professionals and esteemed academics who possess a deep understanding of the journalism industry. They will assist students in developing essential journalism skills, as well as fostering critical thinking, academic research abilities, and effective writing methods. Students will have access to state-of-the-art facilities, including a newsroom equipped with real-time news and sports feeds, as well as audio, filming, and editing equipment.

Moreover, students will have the opportunity to attend lectures and masterclasses led by industry experts, partake in field trips, complete a work placement, and showcase their work by publishing it on a student-operated website starting from the very first day of the course.

The minimum qualifications for admission are as follows:

For A-levels or BTEC:

The entry requirements range from A-level BBB–BCC (120–104 UCAS Tariff points) or BTEC Extended Diploma DMM–MMM. Typically, our conditional offers fall within this range.
For International Baccalaureate:

A minimum of 26 points, including three subjects at the Higher level.
For 60-credit passes:

Overall pass with a minimum of 60 credits. Preference is given to humanities, history, or politics courses. At least 45 credits must be at level 3.
English language proficiency:

An overall score of 7.0 in the IELTS test, with a minimum of 6.0 in writing and at least 5.5 in the other sections.
