The foundation year has been designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge required to continue onto the BA degree course. Throughout this year you will benefit from full access to University facilities. You will study a range of subjects that underpin subsequent study throughout your degree and will be encouraged to engage in a range of course activities. Contemporary journalism has moved away from the traditional idea of print journalists writing stories that are published daily. The course offers a tailored and balanced approach, equipping you with the ability to not only produce written work but also be able to produce and edit video and audio material in addition to updating and moderating online content. The teaching on the course reflects the shift away from pre-existing and traditional methods and embraces current journalism practice.
