If individuals possess an interest in exploring the impact and representation of the media in our interconnected and globalized society, the Media Studies degree program is well-suited for them.
By selecting specific options, students have the opportunity to tailor their degree according to their personal preferences, allowing them to delve into areas such as film and screen-based media, digital photography, community enterprise, or social and mobile media.
The Media Studies program boasts a team of lecturers actively engaged in research, staff members with industry experience, and visiting professionals from the media field. This collective expertise will guide students in realizing their potential as adaptable and imaginative media innovators and leaders, equipped to navigate an evolving and dynamic industry.
Moreover, during the second year of the program, students will partake in a practical placement lasting four weeks. This placement provides a genuine real-world setting for students to apply and refine their developing skills and talents.
For A-levels or BTEC qualifications, the entry requirements encompass a range of A-level BBB-BCC (equivalent to 120-104 UCAS Tariff points) or BTEC Extended Diploma DMM-MMM. Conditional offers from our institution usually align with these requirements.
Regarding the International Baccalaureate, applicants should have achieved 30 points, with three subjects at the Higher level.
For individuals with an Access to HE Diploma, successful completion involves obtaining 60 credits overall, with at least 45 credits at level 3 and a minimum of 24 credits at a merit level or higher.
