Program Overview

Occupational Therapists work with a wide variety of people to help them reach their potential and gain as much independence as they can.For people with physical or mental health limitations, everyday tasks may be difficult. However, through activity, occupational therapy enables people to live more productive and enjoyable lives.To meet the standards of the World Federation of Occupational Therapists, a minimum of 1000 hours of practice placement is required. As one of the largest providers of qualified Occupational Therapists in Scotland, GCU is innovative in practice placement experience, resulting in job creation in new areas of practice.Occupational Therapists work as part of a team and a third of this programme is dedicated to inter-professional study, where students from a range of health and social care professions learn together.As practice education placements are offered across a wide range of settings within Scotland there will be an expectation to travel and/or relocate as part of the programme.
