This course offers an opportunity to gain an overall understanding of the sector, as professionals need to be flexible and open to new ways of delivering high standards of care. This course covers a range of diverse subjects which include substance misuse, offender management, working with gangs and the management of long-term conditions. You will also have the opportunity to study how to promote healthy living and emotional intelligence in practice. This course is delivered by expert staff with vocational experience in a variety of health and social care settings. There will be opportunities to increase your employability through completion of specialised work placements in a wide range of settings.
An overall average of at least 65% in 12th Standard from both State and Central Examination Boards, IELTS overall score of 6.0 with no less than 5.5 in each component. A-levels: An A-level grade profile of CCC-CDD. T-levels: A T-level graded Pass with a core component of grade C. BTEC: A BTEC grade profile of MMM-MMP. This can be achieved from either an Extended Diploma or a combination of smaller BTEC qualifications. Tariff: Other Level 3 qualifications are accepted for entry. A minimum of 96-80 UCAS Tariff points will be required. Access to Higher Education Diploma: 96-80 UCAS Tariff points including a minimum of 15 Level 3 credits at Distinction. GCSEs: GCSE/IGCSE English grade A*-C or grade 9-4 or equivalent. You must also complete a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. University College Birmingham will co-ordinate and fund the completion of the DBS check.
