Year 1
Focuses on foundations of biomedical science, anatomy, physiology, and introduction to clinical skills. Students develop basic practical skills and an understanding of human health and disease.
Year 2
Explores pathology, pharmacology, microbiology, and systems-based medicine. Clinical skills training is introduced, alongside laboratory work in molecular and cellular biology.
Year 3
Students study clinical medicine, including cardiovascular, respiratory, and gastrointestinal systems, with integrated patient-based learning. Practical sessions focus on diagnosis, communication, and clinical reasoning.
Year 4
Covers advanced clinical practice, surgical skills, paediatrics, and mental health. Students participate in hospital placements to gain real-world experience.
Year 5
Final year emphasizes professional practice, specialist medicine, and preparation for graduation and clinical responsibility. Students consolidate clinical skills during hospital rotations and complete assessments required for medical qualification.

Graduates acquire comprehensive medical knowledge and clinical skills to become fully qualified doctors, prepared to enter the NHS or international healthcare systems. Typical roles include Junior Doctor, Clinical Research Fellow, Medical Educator, and Healthcare Consultant.

A-Levels: AAA/AAB which must include chemistry or biology, and one of either chemistry, biology, mathematics, psychology, physics, computing, or computer science. General studies and critical thinking are not accepted as a third A level. GCSE: A* to B or 9 to 6 in five subjects which must include English language, mathematics, biology, chemistry, physics or a double science.KMMS (Kent and Medway Medical School) requires all applicants to sit the University Clinical Aptitude Test (UCAT). All tests must be completed in the year of your application.Successful candidates will be invited to interview. The first round of interviews will be held around December. IB: 34 minimum Must include Chemistry and/or Biology at Higher Level. If both are not offered at Higher Level, there should be a second science offered which must be one from Physics, Maths, or Psychology.
