Program Overview

Curriculum structure:
Year 1: You’ll start by building a solid foundation with modules like Fundamental Care of Mother and Baby 1 and Fundamental Professional Midwifery, where you learn about anatomy, physiology, and the core skills every midwife needs. Your first practice placements let you observe and begin participating in care, giving you an early taste of real-life midwifery.

Year 2: In your second year, you’ll deepen your understanding with modules such as Developing Care of Mother and Baby and Developing Clinical Practice, focusing on antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care, including women with additional needs. Developing Professional Midwifery helps you strengthen your leadership and teamwork skills, preparing you to work confidently in real healthcare environments.

Year 3: Your final year is about mastering your skills and preparing to step into professional practice. In Advanced Care of Mother and Baby, Advanced Clinical Practice, and Advanced Professional Midwifery, you’ll take on greater responsibility, consolidate your clinical knowledge, engage in evidence-based practice, and get ready to graduate as a fully qualified midwife.
