3 Years On Campus Bachelors Program

The University of Bradford

Program Overview

If you’re passionate about helping others and want a career that truly makes a difference, Bradford’s BSc (Hons) Nursing (Adult) is an excellent place to start. The course combines hands-on clinical experience with strong academic learning, preparing you to become a confident, compassionate registered nurse ready to work in today’s fast-moving healthcare world.

Curriculum Structure

Year 1
Your first year sets the foundations for your nursing journey. You’ll study key modules like Nursing Foundations, Understanding People and Health, and Person Centred Needs and Care Planning, while also completing your first placement in a real care setting. This is where you’ll begin to apply practical skills such as measuring vital signs, communicating with patients, and understanding what truly person-centred care means in practice.

Year 2
In your second year, you’ll start to think and work more like a nurse. Modules such as Contemporary Perspectives in Nursing, Leading and Managing Nursing Care, and Implementing Person Centred Care help you build confidence in decision-making and leadership. You’ll take on more responsibility during placements, caring for patients with complex needs and learning how to deliver safe, evidence-based care in a variety of healthcare environments.

Final Year
By your final year, you’ll be ready to step into professional practice. Modules like Critical Perspectives in Nursing, The Business of Caring, and Co-ordinating and Leading Care focus on leadership, teamwork, and quality improvement. You’ll work closely with mentors during your final placement, developing the independence and professional judgment you’ll need as a newly registered nurse.

Experiential Learning (Research, Projects, Internships etc.)

At Bradford, learning to be an adult nurse isn’t just about reading textbooks — it’s about doing. From your very first year, you’ll spend significant time in realistic clinical environments where you can practise essential skills safely and confidently. • Support from experienced nursing tutors: Learn directly from professionals who help you link theory with practice.

  • Access to the Faculty of Health Studies’ resources: Including digital tools, libraries, and healthcare-specific learning materials to complement your practical experience.
