Curriculum Structure

Year 1: Foundations of Nursing
In your first year, you’ll explore the fundamentals of nursing practice and mental health care. Modules such as Nursing and Academic Practice and Social Concepts of Nursing introduce you to professional standards and the social aspects of healthcare. You’ll also start Practice 1 Mental Health, applying what you’ve learned in real clinical environments under supervision.

Year 2: Developing Clinical Competence
The second year is all about building your confidence and clinical skills. Modules like Evidence-Based Healthcare and Promoting Health equip you to make informed decisions and support patients effectively. Extended placements through Practice 3 and Practice 4 Mental Health allow you to work alongside experienced nurses in a variety of mental health settings.

Year 3: Advanced Practice and Professional Development
In your final year, you’ll focus on leadership, advanced therapeutic skills, and preparing for professional practice. Modules such as Preparing for Professional Practice and Integrated Approaches to Mental Health Across the Lifespan challenge you to think critically and deliver care in complex situations. Practice 5 Mental Health and Managing Therapeutic Approaches and Facilitating Therapeutic Interventions give you the chance to demonstrate your skills and step confidently into your nursing career.
