This three-year honours degree prepares you to become a registered adult nurse, combining hands-on learning in state-of-the-art simulation labs with real-world placements in hospitals and community settings. Curriculum Structure:
Year 1:
In your first year, you’ll lay the foundations of nursing practice. Modules like Bioscience for Nursing, Law & Ethics (Mental Wealth), and Communication introduce you to human anatomy, ethical and legal issues in care, and essential ways to communicate with patients and healthcare teams. You’ll also start your first placements and simulation sessions to see theory in action.

Year 2:
Year 2 focuses on building your clinical skills and knowledge of long-term and acute conditions. Modules such as Pharmacology for Adult Nurses, Long Term Conditions, and Nursing Practice (2) teach you medication administration, managing chronic illnesses, and evidence-based nursing care. You’ll spend more time in placements, applying your learning directly in real healthcare environments.

Year 3:
In your final year, you’ll refine advanced nursing skills, develop leadership abilities, and prepare for professional registration. Modules like Advancing Adult Nursing Skills, Quality Improvement & Evaluation, and Preparing for Registration as an Adult Nurse focus on leadership, innovation, and completing extended placements so you graduate confident and job-ready.

  • Inter-professional and digital learning: Collaborate with students from physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and other healthcare programmes, using digital platforms to enhance teamwork and decision-making skills.

  • Library and specialist labs: Access Stratford Campus’s library and dedicated laboratories for biosciences, anatomy, and simulation learning to support your practical and theoretical studies.
