You’ll practise real nursing tasks, work directly with patients under supervision, and use advanced simulation technology to build your skills and confidence. UEL’s facilities, placements, and digital tools are all designed to make the transition from learning to working in healthcare as smooth and realistic as possible.

Here’s how your practical learning will look:

  • Clinical placements with NHS partners: Work in real healthcare settings alongside nursing teams, gaining experience across adult, child, mental health, and social care.

  • Simulation and training facilities: Use mock wards, scenario-based practice, and digital/VR learning environments at the Stratford campus to replicate real hospital and community care.

  • Digital and blended learning tools: Access online modules, virtual learning environments (VLE), simulation software, and reflective e-portfolios to support your practice and personal development.

  • Team projects and supervised practice: Collaborate with students from other healthcare disciplines and take responsibility for care tasks under the guidance of a registered nurse.

  • Specialist labs and health sciences resources: Benefit from anatomy and physiology labs, library support, and digital health simulation platforms to deepen both practical and theoretical understanding.
