The MNurs (Hons) Nursing (Adult Health and Mental Health) is a four-year integrated master’s program that lets you train in both adult and mental health nursing. Curriculum Structure

Year 1 – Building Your Foundation

Your first year focuses on getting the basics right. You’ll study Applied Human Biology Across the Lifespan to understand how the body works and develops, Assessing and Planning Nursing Care to learn how to evaluate patients’ needs, and Interprofessional Learning 1 to start collaborating with other healthcare professionals. This combination gives you both the knowledge and practical skills to begin your nursing journey.

Year 2 – Expanding Your Knowledge

Year two introduces more complex concepts and research skills. You’ll explore Promoting Health and Preventing Ill Health to learn about public health, Research Methodology and Methods to apply evidence in practice, and Pathophysiology and Complex Health Needs to understand conditions that affect patients. Placements continue to let you put theory into action in real healthcare settings.

Year 3 – Advanced Practice and Leadership

In year three, you’ll take on advanced clinical skills and leadership development. Advanced Clinical Practice strengthens your hands-on abilities, Leadership and Management in Nursing prepares you to lead teams effectively, and Evidence-Based Practice helps you use research to improve patient care outcomes.

Year 4 – Preparing for Professional Practice

Your final year focuses on becoming a confident, autonomous nurse. You’ll study Independent and Supplementary Prescribing to understand medications, complete a Dissertation in Nursing to contribute to nursing knowledge, and take part in Transition to Professional Practice, preparing you for full responsibilities as a registered nurse.
