It’s perfect for students who are passionate about caring for adults and want to develop the knowledge, confidence, and hands-on skills to make a real difference in people’s lives.

Curriculum Structure

Foundation Year (Year 0):
The foundation year gives you a solid start for your nursing journey. You’ll explore modules like Introduction to the Human Body to understand the basics of anatomy and physiology, and Preparing for a Professional Course to build your academic and research skills. You’ll also dive into Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Ethics, which lays the groundwork for becoming a compassionate and ethical healthcare professional.

Year 1 (Level 4):
In your first year, you’ll split your time between university and clinical placements. You’ll study Foundations of Healthcare Practice to understand legal, ethical, and professional aspects of nursing, while Inclusive and Collaborative Practice helps you communicate effectively with patients and colleagues. The Human Life Journey introduces public health and how care needs change throughout life.

Year 2 (Level 5):
This year, you’ll tackle more complex nursing scenarios. Challenges to Health and Wellbeing helps you understand health inequalities and promotion strategies, while Contemporary Evidence-Based Practice in Adult Nursing teaches you to apply research to real-world care. Skills for Safe and Effective Practice ensures you gain the practical competence you need in clinical settings, and Working in Partnership to Prioritise Care develops your leadership and care-planning skills.

Year 3 (Level 6):
Your final year is all about preparing to become a registered nurse. Advancing Skills in Contemporary Adult Nursing Practice lets you manage complex care needs safely, and Enhancing Safety and Quality of Care focuses on patient safety, healthcare policy, and risk management. Your Independent Inquiry Module allows you to explore a topic that excites you and make a real contribution to nursing practice. Finally, Preparing for Transition as a Registered Practitioner ensures you’re ready to step confidently into the professional world.
