Upon completion of this physiotherapy degree course, you will have all the necessary qualifications to begin your career as a registered physiotherapist with the HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) in the UK. The course offers continuous professional and portfolio development from start to finish.
A-levels: To be eligible, you need ABB grades, including biology, human biology, or physical education (PE). BTEC Extended Diploma: A minimum of DDM is required, preferably in sport and exercise. If you hold a BTEC in a different subject, you should also have an A-level in biology or human biology at grade B. International Baccalaureate: You must have a minimum of 32 points, with three subjects at the Higher level. Access to HE Diploma: You need to complete a QAA-recognized Access to Science course that includes biological science. A pass is required, totaling 60 credits, with 45 credits at level 3 (at least 30 distinctions and 15 merits). The remaining 15 credits can be at level 2. It is preferable to have a GCSE in mathematics and English language with a grade C or grade 4, or an equivalent qualification. T-level: A distinction in the Health, Healthcare Science, or Science T-level is accepted. Other T-levels are not considered. Foundation Degree: Consideration is based on individual merit, with a requirement of a high standard pass (70%). Scottish Qualifications: Typically, three As and two Bs at the higher level are required, including biology and English. Irish Leaving Certificate: Typically, three As (A1-A2) and three Bs (B1-B2) at the higher level are required, including biology and English. European Baccalaureate: A mark of 75% is necessary. Applicants whose first language is not English must also achieve a higher level in English. GCSE: You need a minimum grade C or grade 4 in at least three subjects, including English language and mathematics. If you lack the required GCSEs, alternative equivalent qualifications will be considered. Other qualifications: Various other qualifications are accepted if they are equivalent to Level 3 and contain an appropriate amount of science content. However, the CACHE Diploma does not fulfill the subject-specific science requirements. All entry qualifications should be obtained within three years prior to the start of the course. Additional Requirements for this Course: Demonstrate commitment to the profession. Completion of at least one week of work experience in a physiotherapy setting, preferably in the NHS or another hospital setting. Successful completion of occupational health and Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks. Ability to meet travel requirements for attending placements. International students must provide a police check from their home country. English Language Requirements: An overall IELTS score of 7.0 is required, with no element below 6.5.
