Law and Criminal Justice LLB (Hons)

3 Years On Campus Bachelors Program

Kingston University London

Program Overview

The Law and Criminal Justice LLB (Hons) at Kingston University London combines a solid grounding in law with an insightful look into criminal justice — giving you both legal knowledge and understanding of crime, policing, and justice systems. It suits anyone who’s passionate about fairness, curious about how courts and law enforcement work, and wants to build a career where law meets real-world justice.

Curriculum Structure

Year 1
In your first year, you’ll cover the essentials of legal study — exploring how the legal system works, what laws regulate contracts and criminal offences, and the basics of criminal justice. With core units like English Legal System, Contract Law, and Criminal Law, you’ll begin to understand how laws shape society and must be applied with care and clarity. This foundational year helps you think like a lawyer or criminal justice professional from day one.

Year 2
Your second year brings greater depth: you’ll venture into areas such as Public and Constitutional Law, Tort Law and Property Law — alongside studies focused on criminal justice context. You start to examine how laws protect people’s rights, deal with harm, and regulate relationships between individuals, communities, and the state. Through these modules you sharpen your legal reasoning, learn to interpret statutes and case law, and connect theory with the realities of crime, justice and social responsibility.

Year 3
In the final year, you’ll bring everything together with advanced and optional modules — possibly including topics like Human Rights Law, Criminal Justice Practice, or aspects of criminology and policing. This is when you get to apply your learning to more complex legal and justice issues, refine your research and argument skills, and prepare yourself for either professional legal training or a career in criminal justice, advocacy, or social policy.
