Year 3 – Specialisation and Professional Preparation

a. GRIP: Goldsmiths Research Internships Programme

The GRIP programme provides penultimate-year undergraduates with six to eight weeks of paid, full-time experience working on academic research projects during the summer. Students collaborate with academic staff on innovative projects, enhancing their research skills and CV.

Legal Clinics & Pro Bono Work

a. University of London Refugee Law Clinic

As part of this clinic, LLB students offer pro bono legal advice and representation for refugee clients, under the supervision of experienced solicitors and in collaboration with students from other University of London institutions. The clinic is regulated by the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner.

b. Pro Bono Community Clinic

This clinic provides students with the opportunity to undertake 3–6 month placements in legal advice centres across London, specializing in welfare benefits law among other areas. These placements allow students to apply their legal knowledge in real-world settings.

Mooting & Mock Trials

a. Internal Mooting Competitions

Goldsmiths hosts internal mooting competitions, such as the Law Department Internal Mooting Competition and the Law Department Debating Cup, where students can showcase their advocacy skills.

Legal Career Pathways:
