3 Years On Campus Bachelors Program

University of Bolton

Program Overview

The LLB (Hons) Law at the University of Bolton is designed for students who want a practical, career-focused legal education supported by small classes and personalised teaching. It’s ideal for anyone who wants to build solid legal knowledge while developing the real-world skills needed for modern legal practice, including advocacy, research, and problem-solving.

Curriculum Structure

Year 1

Your first year introduces the foundations of English law and helps you build confidence in legal thinking and research. You’ll explore modules such as English Legal System, Contract Law, Criminal Law, and Legal Skills, giving you a clear understanding of how laws are created, interpreted, and applied. This year strengthens your ability to analyse cases, structure arguments, and use legal research tools effectively.

Year 2

In your second year, you deepen your knowledge across essential areas of law while beginning to apply your skills in more complex contexts. You’ll study modules such as Tort Law, Public Law, Law of Evidence, and Land Law, each helping you understand how legal principles operate in everyday disputes and public life. Practical workshops, case-based tasks, and problem-solving sessions help you think like a practitioner.

Year 3

Your final year allows you to specialise and focus on the areas of law that inspire you most. You’ll explore advanced modules like Equity and Trusts, Family Law, Commercial Law, or Human Rights, depending on what you choose. You may also complete a Law Project or Dissertation, giving you the chance to investigate a legal issue in depth and showcase your reasoning and research skills.
