Experiential Learning (Research, Projects, Internships etc.)

1. Live Community Projects
Students engage in real-world legal projects, applying their knowledge to assist the community while developing practical skills. University of Portsmouth

2. Replica Courtroom Practice
The university provides a replica courtroom equipped with hidden recording equipment, allowing students to practice advocacy and review their performances for improvement. ​University of Portsmouth

3. Law in Practice Module

4. Optional Work Placement Year
Students have the option to undertake a paid work placement between the second and third years, enhancing employability and providing industry experience.

⚖️ Legal Career Pathways:

  • Solicitor: Graduates can pursue the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) to qualify as solicitors. Porthsmouth's offers SQE-aligned support and practical legal training.

  • Barrister: Those aiming for the Bar can undertake a Bar Training Course (BTC) and apply for pupillage.

  • Other roles include paralegal, legal executive, advocate, or tribunal officer.
