LLB (Hons) Law

3 Years On Campus Bachelors Program

Goldsmiths University of London

Program Overview

The LLB (Hons) Law at Goldsmiths blends traditional legal training with a modern, socially focused approach, helping you understand not only what the law is, but how it shapes people’s lives. It’s perfect for students who want a contemporary law degree that develops strong legal reasoning, practical skills and a deeper awareness of the world around them.

Curriculum Structure

Year 1 – Building Your Legal Foundations

Your first year introduces you to the core building blocks of legal study. You’ll explore subjects such as Public Law, Contract Law, and Criminal Law, which help you understand how the UK legal system works, how agreements are formed, and how criminal responsibility is defined. You’ll also develop essential skills in legal analysis, case reading and independent thinking, setting you up for success in more advanced study.

Year 2 – Developing Legal Expertise and Critical Thinking

In your second year, you’ll deepen your knowledge of major legal areas and begin to apply your skills to real-world problems. Modules like Tort Law, Land Law and Equity & Trusts help you examine how rights, responsibilities and disputes play out in everyday life. Alongside these core subjects, you’ll have opportunities to choose optional modules that let you explore emerging themes in law, justice and society.

Year 3 – Specialisation and Professional Preparation

Your final year allows you to shape your degree around your interests and career goals. You’ll take advanced electives such as Human Rights Law, Media Law, Family Law or other specialist areas that reflect the realities of modern legal practice. You’ll also complete a major research project or dissertation, giving you the chance to investigate a legal topic you care about and demonstrate your ability to think critically and communicate with confidence.
