Specialization options include family law, company law, intellectual property law, and human rights, allowing you to tailor your degree to your interests.

Our practical approach to learning includes mooting sessions, class debates, and simulated court trials in our Moot Court Room. You’ll build advocacy, negotiation, and client interview skills while participating in internal and external mooting competitions.

Enhance your career prospects through real-world experience. Choose a four-year sandwich course with a year-long placement or gain hands-on experience in our Law Clinic, where you’ll advise real clients and shadow solicitors. Our partnerships with local law firms, particularly in the Family Law module, offer additional professional exposure, ensuring you graduate with the practical skills and confidence needed for a successful legal career.

⚖️ Experiential Learning Opportunities

1. Pro Bono Law Clinic

The university operates a pro bono Law Clinic, supervised by staff such as Associate Head of School Saba Yousif. This clinic allows law students to provide legal assistance to members of the public, businesses, and charities, offering practical experience in a professional setting. ​University of Gloucestershire

2. Mock Courtroom Sessions

Students have the opportunity to participate in simulated mock hearings within the university's replica courtroom. These sessions allow students to gain authentic experience of a legal setting, enhancing their understanding of courtroom procedures and legal practice. ​

3. Work-Based Placements

In the third year, students can choose to complete an optional work-based placement at an approved legal organization, such as a solicitor’s firm, a barrister’s chambers, or a center for legal advice. This experience provides practical exposure to the legal profession and enhances employability.

Progression & Future Opportunities

  • Professional Qualifications:

    • Qualify as a solicitor via the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE).

    • Train as a barrister through the Bar Training Course (BTC).

  • Further Studies:

    • Pursue an LLM (Master of Laws) or specialized postgraduate diplomas.

    • Study business, international relations, or public policy at postgraduate level.

  • Legal Careers:
