The LLB Law at the University of Warwick is a dynamic and intellectually stimulating three-year program designed for students who want to understand how law shapes the world and influences society. Curriculum Structure:
Year 1: You’ll begin by exploring the foundations of English law, studying key modules such as Legal System, Introduction to Legal Theory, and Tort Law. These courses help you understand how the legal system functions and develop essential legal reasoning and analytical skills.

Year 2: The second year allows you to deepen your knowledge through core modules like Contract Law, Property Law, and Criminal Law. This year focuses on applying legal principles to complex situations while enhancing your research and argumentation abilities. You’ll also have opportunities to choose optional modules that align with your interests, such as International Law or Human Rights Law.

Year 3: In your final year, you’ll study Equity and Trusts and can specialise through electives such as Commercial Law, Medical Law and Ethics, or Law and Technology. This year encourages independent thought through research projects or dissertations, preparing you for a career in law, business, or public service.

Legal systems, criminal and contract law, international and human rights law, property law, and equity and trusts.

Learning Outcomes:
Critical understanding of legal frameworks, ability to interpret and apply law to real-world cases, strong legal research and writing skills, and analytical reasoning developed through independent and group work.

  • Warwick Law in the Community (LinC)

  • Warwick Internship Programme (WIP)
    The WIP offers students the chance to gain valuable work experience through 6-week placements during the summer vacation. This program allows students to apply their skills in a professional environment and enhances their employability.

  • Solicitor – Requires passing the Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE) and a two-year Qualifying Work Experience (QWE)
  • Barrister – Requires completing the Bar Course (BTC/BPC) and a one-year pupillage in chambers
  • Legal Executive – Qualify via CILEx (Chartered Institute of Legal Executives)
  • Paralegal – Assisting lawyers without full solicitor/barrister qualification
